About our AP US History Summer Prep Course

The AP US History course is notorious for how much information students are required to know for the test. This course aims to teach students how to best study and retain all that information. Instead of last-minute memorization in the last couple of weeks before the test, we will focus on how to learn history by building on existing knowledge. This course will include an overview of the general structure of the AP US History course, and students will leave the course with a mental timeline of US History they can add to during lectures throughout the year.

About The Instructor

Caleb Heine

While Caleb always enjoyed his history courses in high school and college, it wasn’t until he studied abroad in Prague, Czech Republic that he focused his attention on studying history. After tutoring history for a few years, Caleb became an Adjunct Instructor of World/Food History at the Auguste-Escoffier School of Culinary Arts. He enjoyed the challenge of taking a class that kept the future chefs out of the practice kitchens and turning that class into an opportunity to grow the students’ passions for exploring the world’s cuisines through a greater understanding of how history affects food and food affects history. Since joining Kastner Hill Learning, Caleb has returned to teaching US History and has enjoyed discovering new ways to teach the class to high school juniors so they can demonstrate their mastery on the tests.
