About our AP Physics Summer Jumpstart

Our AP Physics prep course revolves around obtaining a grasp on the fundamentals of physics. This will involve solving linear and angular kinematics via systems of equations. We will also look into forces and draw free-body diagrams by setting up and analyzing vectors. We will also take some time to look ahead at centripetal motion, as well as a brief look into electricity and magnetism, waves and heat, and modern physics. We will use these core understandings to solve real-world physics problems and prepare any student for the AP Physics tests.

About The Instructor

Joseph Hirtle

Joseph graduated from Texas State University in Spring 2022 with a B.S. in Physics. During his studies, he researched transiting exoplanets and the respective light curves. He also researched thermal conductivities of different multi-layer materials using optics. Both research topics require an in-depth understanding of coding with Python and LabVIEW.

While studying physics, Joseph also worked as a Learning Assistant (an in class tutor) and a Lab Instructor for introductory physics. Through this work Joseph discovered his passion for helping others learn physics and mathematics. He assisted professors in lecturing about Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, and Waves and Heat, all of which required an understanding of Algebra and Calculus.

The Details:

  • Each session includes two 2-hour classes per week, totaling 16 hours of in-person instruction from one of our expert tutors. We have included a fifth “make-up” week to accommodate students with challenging schedules.
