About our Academic Writing Seminar

Students entering their junior or senior years may not be ready for the level of writing expected of them. Rising juniors who are taking AP English Language and Composition, which has a heavy focus on rhetorical analysis, especially find the leap between writing levels challenging. This course will teach students how to structure and write any academic essay no matter the format or rubric. Whether students have days to write an essay or an hour, students will learn the simple steps to write any essay that will meet the grading standards.

About The Instructor

Will Wineinger

A recent graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Will received degrees in both English and Rhetoric & Writing. He also served as a consultant at the University Writing Center, helping fellow students perfect their academic and admissions essays and improve their reading comprehension through rhetorical analysis.

Will believes that good writers are vastly undervalued in today’s society. In other words, everyone learns to write, but not everyone learns to be a writer. As a student of rhetoric, Will strives to help students excel beyond competence and to find their own voice and writing style. But more than a writer, Will is a fierce friend and a dedicated mentor. He has spent nearly a decade working with children and adolescents of all ages, in both academic and extra-curricular settings, and he’s loved every minute of it.
