Sam grew up in a small town in Western Maryland where he developed a passion for education and helping others. Sam holds a bachelor's degree in public health from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) and a master's degree in public health from Emory University. After dealing with cold Baltimore winters and wet Atlanta summers, Sam was more than ready to inhabit the warm, dry climate of Texas.

While in college, Sam was an accomplished chemistry tutor, working as both an in-class Learning Assistant for Organic Chemistry and a peer tutor at the Chemistry Tutorial Center. As a post-graduate, Sam has developed a passion for test preparation, with a focus on SAT and ACT math. Sam appreciates working with all types of learners, but most of all enjoys helping to improve the skills that aren't always associated with learning, like confidence and self-assurance. He also hopes to impart logic skills and test-taking strategies that will stay with students throughout their entire academic careers. After spending some time working in the public health field full-time while tutoring part-time, Sam has recently decided to pursue education and tutoring full-time.

Outside of tutoring, Sam is an avid tennis player who also enjoys writing in his journal, reading fiction, and watching horror movies.
