Joseph graduated from Texas State University in Spring 2022 with a B.S. in Physics. During his studies, he researched transiting exoplanets and the respective light curves. He also researched thermal conductivities of different multi-layer materials using optics. Both research topics require an in-depth understanding of coding with Python and LabVIEW. During his junior and senior year, he helped start Texas State’s first satellite program with the aim to have a fully functional satellite by 2026.

While studying physics, Joseph also worked as a Learning Assistant (an in class tutor) and a Lab Instructor for introductory physics. Through this work Joseph discovered his passion for helping others learn physics and mathematics. He assisted professors in lecturing about Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, and Waves and Heat, all of which required an understanding of Algebra and Calculus. He held this position for three years, during which he helped develop new material and teaching methods for the Learning Assistant and Lab Instructor programs.

In his free time, Joseph enjoys playing disc golf and going on hikes. He also enjoys spending time with friends and playing board or video games. He hopes to travel to other countries and learn as much as he can about other cultures.
