Hien is a fourth-year undergraduate at the University of Texas at Austin, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Physics. As a student, Hien has conducted research on quantized sound waves and high-temperature superconductors. Hien is also an active member of the Texas Rock Climbing Club and has volunteered with them to support the local community on multiple occasions.
Before joining Kastner Hill Learning, Hien worked for UT Austin’s SURE Walk Program, which has provided thousands of students with free and safe rides home from campus at night. Hien’s proudest moment at SURE Walk was managing to dispatch a record number of rides in a single night with one of the vehicles out of commission.
Hien’s post-graduation plans include pursuing a career in the microchip industry and eventually obtaining a graduate degree in materials science. Hien hopes to make breakthroughs in computer efficiency and contribute to keeping Moore’s Law alive.
In his free time, you can find Hien climbing at Austin Bouldering Project or reading a science fiction book at Bennu Coffee. Hien also enjoys attending indie rock concerts and is currently on a mission to see as many artists as possible before graduating in May.
