Evelyn Haskins recently graduated from the University of Texas with a B.A. in Philosophy with a focus in legal theory. Her interest in legal and political philosophy began when she joined the Thomas Jefferson Great Books Program where she discussed ancient and modern texts about human nature and ethics. Through the Great Books Program, Evelyn spent a Summer studying philosophy and art history at the Rome Institute of Liberal Arts. While in Rome, Evelyn discovered a love for tiramisu and Baroque architecture.
During her time at UT, Evelyn also served as an event coordinator for Campus Events and Entertainment. Through creating memorable events for her peers, Evelyn explored her passions for community building and event planning. Her most impactful project was a three year revamp of the annual Forty Acres Fest, which features student bands, carnival attractions, and a headlining performer.
Outside of KHL, Evelyn enjoys reading Jane Austen books, baking anything with chocolate in it, going to rock concerts, and hosting dinner parties for her friends. Evelyn believes in the importance of a supportive and positive community, and is excited to connect with students on a personal level as they explore their interests and consider their futures. She knows how daunting and complex the Humanities can seem, and she is eager to encourage students and instill confidence in their abilities.
